Ajuga reptans, the wild bugle, is a robust evergreen with dark green foliage, bearing upright spikes of dark blue flowers from late spring to midsummer.

Ajuga reptans 'Burgundy Glow' has evergreen, silvery leaves flushed with shades of burgundy and purple, with irregular cream margins. Plants quickly form a low carpet of rounded, glossy leaves, making it the perfect choice for ground cover in shady borders.

For best results grow Ajuga reptans 'Burgundy Glow' in moist but well-drained soil in partial to full shade. It does well planted beneath shrubs and in containers, as long as the soil or compost doesn't dry out. To propagate, divide plants in autumn or spring.
